irish jigging, petrified bodies and chairlifts

thursday night was Saint Patricks Day so of COURSE we went to scholars irish pub. Caity Shelby and I got green guinesses and tried to fight through the crowds of the bar. As the night went on, Caity and i went into the room with the one man band on the guitar singing irish songs and started dancing with this really super drunk guy who was from dublin. He taught us how to irish jig, well kind of and was dancing with us for a half hour. Caity and I ditched the lad and started to irish jig on our own. We had a circle of ten people surrounding us and clapping along with the irish songs while watching us "dance". A man came up to me and asked me if i could teach his girlfriend how to jig, while a couple of others asked us if we were from ireland. granted, i just dyed my hair so i do look irish, dark hair and blue eyes, but we couldnt keep up with the lie and said we were from america.hahahaha hilarious though that we could bullshit that much. we danced the entire night, the band was rockin and it was probably the best st pattys ive had.
friday morning we left for naples and pompei. we arrived at pompei, had pizza which was nothing to rave about and went into the archeological site. it was legit. it is so cool that there used to be a huge town there back in the day... and then it was all shot to shit when vesuvius erupted. there were petrified bodies which were really cool... we checked into the hotel and went out for dinner. as always the food was amazing- we hung out with everyone getting drunk on the porch (minus me) as i was tired and we had to wake early the next day.
on saturday morning we headed for the bus and took the bus to the harbor where we would get the ferry to Capri... well. uh. the boat was huge, but the ride was rough. every single person... well almost everyone vomited because the waves were tooo big. kim puked 6 times!! i didnt though. i was sitting next to joe trying to sleep and all of a sudden his breathing is heaver... and i look over and he is in a deep sweat. hahahaha he ran to the back of the boat but didnt vom. champ. capri was one of the most beautiful places i have ever been. i fulfilled one of the things on my bucket list: to touch water so blue that it shines. look that the picture to see what i mean. we headed up the island to the town of anacapri at the top and walked around. we met antonio viva who is famous for making beautiful sandals custom fit to your foot right in front of you, we grabbed lunch, did a little shopping and headed to the chairlift. this charlift was INSANE. its a wooden one person seat that you sit in while it takes you up to the highest point of Capri... it was about 13 minnutes and the view of mt vesuvius as well as the town was amazing. ive never seen anything more beautiful. when we got to the top, the view was even more beautiful. there was sea for miles, beautiful rocks and the beautiful amalfi coast.ugh i want to go back. after taking a million photos and having a photoshoot on top of the mountain we made our way back down to meet the group. apparently Ben, andrew, Steve, Raul (from Romania) and a couple of others rented vespas to go around the island and were screaming Mi Scusi at the top of their lungs for two hours while riding hahahaha. theyre crazy.
we went out for dinner on saturday night and had the most lesbian butch waitress ever... we ordered this pizza that was a meter long. and fucking demolished the entire thing between seven people. i ordered pasta
with mussels and clams which was amazing... duh its the mediterranean! while we were leaving the waitress decided to hug and kiss melissa. fucking weird... we booked it out of there realll quick. haha
sunday- today, we went to this boring archeological museum and the entire time i thought i smelled like homeless man's pee, i was trying to smell my clothes, leggings, shoes everything until i realized it wasnt me but the landyard i was wearing for the tour. wtf. gross... afterwards amanda and i went on a little date and had the BEST napoli pizza EVER... napoli (naples) is known for its pizza... and being a shithole. honestly it is the dirtiest town i have ever seen. the slums outside the city are as bad as if not worse than harlem.... gross.
after lunch we took the bus to mt vesuvius- the active volcano that last erupted in 1945. we climbed to the very top and looked inside the crater. the view over italy was amazing... and the volcano was even more interesting. steam was coming out from the rocks as it is still active. the walk up the mountain was aweful... i am so out of shape its unreall.
on the way home on the bus, the bus kept breaking down. it was bullshit. but now im home, going out, and coming back to schleeeep.. love you all
